Growing pains and musculoskeletal injuries
Childhood marks the most rapid period of growth that our bodies will ever endure. While relatively resilient, a child's bones, ligaments, tendons, and muscles are under stress to meet the demands of their growing bodies. This can lead to an increased likelihood of sporting injuries or growing pains like shin splints or knee pain (Osgood-Schlatter's). In conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise, osteopathy can be used to reduce the load on growing bodies.
