Hi everyone, my name is Mia and I am thrilled to be graduating as an osteopath and joining the Oak Tree team in 2020. During my studies, I have enjoyed building my clinical experience with a variety of fantastic mentors. Working at the RMIT student clinic gave me the opportunity to treat and manage a range of patients while working closely with experienced clinic supervisors. I have also worked closely with various osteopaths across Melbourne learning from their individual skills and expertise, and completed my internship at Oak Tree Osteopathy in my final year of osteopathic studies.
My favorite thing about working as an osteopath in private practice is that you never know what each new day will bring - I love treating a range of age groups and conditions! My main treatment principle pertains to optimising function and helping my patients return to their activities of daily living. Whether their goal is to return to sport or simply hang out the washing without pain, I want to assist my patients in achieving their goals, great or small. I use a range of techniques including soft tissue massage, articulation, manipulation, stretching, harmonics and many others. I individualise my treatment by carefully selecting which techniques are best suited to my patient's needs.
I have a passion for health and fitness and aim to get this message across to my patients. I like to keep active by walking my puppy and working out at the gym. I have also played a range of sports over the years including basketball, football and netball. Keeping fit and active is important to me and my interest in health and lifestyle often translates into my holistic management of patients.
While I am not at work, I enjoy finding the best brunch spots in Melbourne with my family, friends and Jack Russell puppy.
I look forward to meeting you and helping to optimise your function!
